    Default Unaccounted airmen - 7-5-1942

    What were the places of death registration for:

    A - Died on active service:
    Sgt (WOp/Ag) Wilfred B. ADAMS - 1381515 - 78 Sqn (Croft, Yorkshire);
    Sgt Frederick R. LEVAY - 1034615, and
    Sgt (WOp/Ag) Alan RUSHTON - 1053538 - 78 Sqn (Croft, Yorkshire).

    B - In Flight, however unreadable:
    LAC Lawrence STERN - 1440612.

    All are DOAS

    A - Died on active service:
    Sgt (WOp/Ag) Wilfred B. ADAMS - age 29 York District
    Sgt Frederick R. LEVAY - age 19, Wantage district, Berkshire
    Sgt (WOp/Ag) Alan RUSHTON - age 21 York District, name spelled as Allan on index.
    LAC Lawrence STERN - age 20, Aylesbury district, Buckinghamshire.
    Dennis Burke
    - Dublin

    LAC L Stern in Flight August 13th, 1942 is also Died On Active Service

    Henk, I have nothing which could fit for the two WOp/AG losses in the York area for this day. It does seem more than co-incidence that both were 78 Sqdn though.

    I have Adams and Rushton dying in York Military Hospital following a motor accident.

    Sgt (WOp/Ag) Wilfred B. ADAMS - 1381515 & Alan RUSHTON - 1053538 - 78 Sqn (Croft, Yorkshire) - died in hospital from injuries received in a collision between two lorries at Dunnington railway level-crossing.
