    Hi Henk
Bowen,19, registered at Chippenham, Wiltshire the same place as Crosier so it might put him on the Proctor
    Goldie,29, registered at Northumberland Central
    Weaver,39, registered at Coventry, Warwickshire
Richardson,27, registered at Newcastle on Tyne ,Northumberland. It is a long way from Redhill, Surrey but he is buried in Durham
    Regards

    Hi Henk,

from my experience of Czech WOPs and pilots serving wih No. 2 SS in Yatesbury AC1 (WOp/Ag u/t) Hugh B. BOWEN - 1283063 perfectly fits to Proctor I - P6266 - 2 SS as Dick also mentioned- there was always a pilot + 1 trainee aboard the Proctor trainers.

    Henk,

The Item Notes on the A705 of AUS405472 Sgt Edward Rutherford CROSIER RAAF ( + 16-5-1942 - 2 SS), confirm the presence of 1283063 Hugh B BOWEN (albeit quoting 'BOWDEN'), aboard the Proctor.

NB. Crosier's A705 is filed under service number 403472.

    Thanks for confirmation Col.
It was just a guess from me only with some similar cases in memory and that he was the only WOP u/t in Henk's list:-)

    Hello Col,
You told me some time ago how to open an NAA A705 file even if there was no digital copy. Unfortunately I forgot (old man, age 76 !!). How can I read that BOWEN (BOWDEN) was in CROSIER's (AU405472) file (under 403472).
    Best regards,
    Henk.

    Henk,

On the 'General Search' page , enter the following in the 'Reference numbers' box - 163/98/505 - click Search, click Display. This will bring up Crosier's A705 title page. For Bowen/Bowden info, scroll to bottom of page and click 'Item notes'.

    Default 420516 - Unaccounted airman - 16-5-1942

What caused the death of F/O William C. RUSSELL - RAAF 404059, who died/was killed 16-5-1942 and lies buried in the Moascar War Cem. in Egypt.
Can find his name neither in the GRO-Listing nor in Flight Global Magazine.
    Regards,
    Henk.

    Henk,

    Re: RUSSELL.

    See: http://www.rafcommands.com/forum//showthread.php?t=8809

You will also have trouble locating Russell's A705 at the NAA with a service number search. They have filed it - Service Number - unknown! It is there.
