    Default Beaufighter Mk.II T3038

Does anyone have the full service history for this aircraft including date of postings/construction.

The aircraft crashed at Hutton Mill Bridge in Berwickshire on 4th January 1943 whilst serving with 54 O.T.U.

    Thanks,

    Jim

    Hi Jim
The Air Britain T-Serials doesn't give dates but records 2 Units for this a/c - 406 Sqn and 54 OTU. In Jefford's RAF Sqns 406 are shown as having Beaufighter 11s from Jun 41 to Jul 42 switching to MkVIs progressively from Jun 42
    It's a start!
    Regards
    Dick

Thanks for this Dick. I was hoping for more precise dates but this will do for starters. I'll have to order the Form 78 from the RAF Museum I think!

    Thanks for your time.
