    Hi Col,
Not a problem, will keep on searching and something might come up, it's the least I can do after all the help you have given me. Hopefully someone on the board has Steve 'Smudger' Smith's email and could contact him for you.

    Regards,
    Rob Jerram.

I have been researching all RAAF members killed in WWII and I have no Evans, or of similar name (Bevan/s or other) as being killed on or around this date so I agree that the must have all survived.

    G'Day Dean,

Well aware of your researches, including the unfortunate poaching of same by unscrupulous individuals. I monitored ADF Serials on the net from the early days, likewise RAF Commands, but came to E-mailing very late in the piece, gently guided by Errol Martyn, and others.

Hope your project is progressing well.

    Hello,

Just to knock this one on the head.

It would appear that the Wt Off R MEVANS RAAF, mentioned in the crew matrix of No.186 Sqn Lancaster I HK680, FTR LEUNA, 6-7 December, 1944 in BCL5/504, is AUS418503 Robert Morrison EVANS RAAF, after all!

    https://nominal-rolls.dva.gov.au/vet...046862&c=WW2#R

    F/Sgt Evans is cited here:

No.186 Sqn ORB (F.540) Summary of Events
    1944 Oct 1- 1944 Oct 31
    AIR 27/1145/11

    20 OCTOBER 1944.

    AIRMEN POSTED IN (CONTD)

    A418503 F/S EVANS R. M. Wo/Air from 15 Squadron.

Confirmed in No.186 Sqn ORB (F.541) Record of Events, December 1944 - Image 9 of 47.
