    Hi All,

Another airman query for you, I have been trying to find this man on LG & CWGC site but no luck, latter does not surprise me as he could well have survived the war, but I thought his commission would be on LG. Anyone heard of him? He crashed in Anson L7963 at Dalby Mt, Isle of Man on 30/7/40 but was not killed. This is all I have, no crew details for the Anson either so if anyone can help there that would be a bonus.

    Help as always greatly appreciated.

    Regards
    Dave.

No.5 B&GS attended and recorded the following:

August 1st 1940, “Anson aircraft L7963 of S of AN St Athan piloted by P/O Wigley-Jone with crew flew into mountains at Dalby near Peel. Occupants only slightly injured, but aircraft a write off.”

Using the slightly different name I get the following from the LG, Robert Pierce Wigley-Jones (42369). He is recorded right up to the 50s by his service number, last entry is a Flight Lieutenant in the RAF Reserve.

    Thanks Alan,

I reckon this must be one in the same, I had tried the name with one `G` but not leaving out the `R` and `G` Well done! Again!

    Regards
    Dave.
