    Peter,
    From 156sqdn ORB
    Lang RAF.
    Gray NZ.
    Ridings, NZ, note spelling.
    Clark RAF.
    Lee RCAF.
    Wood, RAF.
    Venn, RAF.
All on board ED877 when lost on 5/5/43.

Marson was also NZ, but not of this crew and was probably flying as 2nd dicky for experience, he was killed 22/6/43 as captain of Lancaster ED855.

    W4943, was lost on 28/5/43.

    Default NZ crew

Thanks for those I am just trying to add more to my database, by adding nationalities and force served under.

I must have had an inkling that Venn was a Kiwi somewhere?

    Rob,

Would you please advise the source of your statement that Wood was born in New Zealand? He does not appear on the index to the register of New Zealand births for 1921-1925 inclusive (he was said to be aged 20 at time of death in 1943).

Default Squadron Leader Alistair Grant Lang

According to his POW Questionnaire S/L Lang was born in 1919 and lived near to Uckfield in Sussex.
He enlisted on the 13th Sep 1939.
He suffered a broken ankle as a result of his parachute fall and was a resident of Stalag Luft III from 4th June 43 till the evacuation in Jan 45.

    Regards all

Mike my uncle RJ Lee was the bomb aimer in A Lang's crew. I was able to contact Alistair for some details of my uncle. He was very gracious in his response. Do you have a copy of the POW questionaire that was filed. I would be curious to see it. London Canada

You might also want to check out www.156squadron website. Use the search crew data base tool, type in the name you want to check out and it should come up with all missions flown and the names of the crew members on that particular sortie. You can then click on each crew members name and learn more about them as well.
