C - Not found in Flight archives:
AC2 Donald R. - BROWN - 1137186.

D - Proposed aircraft losses:
Beaufighter I - V8331 - 30 MU - crashed on take-off Sealand.
Master III - W8694 - 7 FIS - crashed on approach Upavon.
Oxford I - T1335 - 3 (P)AFU - crashed in forced landing 1 mile N of Wootton Bassett, Wiltshire.
Hurricane II - BD958 - 1 ADF - crashed in forced landing Cuckmere Haven, Sussex.
Oxford II - ED154 - 14 (P)AFU - spun into ground ½ mile S of Carlton-on-Trent (three casualties), Nottinghamshire (already as casualties on this a/c: Sgt F.G. SHEARS - NZ413489 and P/O R.S. [S.R. ?] HORSWILL - RCAF J/9531).

Clough(Robert A in CWGC and the register),25, registered at Westminster, Central London
Liddington,20, registered at Southwell, Nottinghamshire. This the same area as Shears(on ED154)
Scott,25, registered at Spalding, Lincolnshire
I found a Donald P Brown,28, registered at Whitehaven, Cumberland. The age is as per CWGC but they have Donald R as you do
Everall didn't come up, neither did Campbell but he came from and is buried in Scotland

Campbell and Everall were on N5297, which crashed on Shalloch on Minnoch.

July 2nd 1942, “Anson N5297 Pilot Sgt Gale (RCAF) missing from 1100 hours detail. Overdue action taken. Suspected collision with hill whilst flying in cloud. All crew killed (Shalloch on Minnoch).”

July 5th 1942, “SSQ” “Aeroplane crashed in hills near Turnberry crew of five killed. Occupants were:
R84287. Sgt Cale (Pilot).
1354005. Sgt Hall (W/Op A/G).
1346334. LAC Campbell (U/T B/A).
1576055 LAC Wild (U/T B/A)
1126654. AC Everall W/Op.”

Should have also noted it was No.2 (O)AFU

Hi Henk,

Master III - W8694 - 7 FIS - crashed on approach Upavon.

F/L Jones (Instructor) and Sgt Morrison (pupil) crashed due to faulty throttle control. Both suffered minor injuries.

No its just the new version of Internet explorer, it recognises strings of numbers as phones numbers.

Suspisious lot. I'm running IE7 on my work computer and its not there but fiances laptop has IE8 and I noticed this alst night. Its a tie in to Skype, clicking on the number woudl allow you too call it via Skype.

Click around your toolbars, internet options etc, you most likely can turn it off.

there may be a skype plug in to turn off or remove from your computer, i can't vouch fo rthis but this suggestion makes most sense to me: http://blog.bouncedesign.co.za/?p=6

In anycase its not spam, just slightly annnoying, and its only very isolated case on this message forum due to there being a serial number and RAF Regiment squadron number in close proximaty in some text.

The F1180 for Hampden P2067 is one where two aircraft are listed.

The Hapden is Cat B but also is Cat E loss for Spitfire P8583.

No injuries on the Hampden but the pilot, Sgt (Pilot) Charles I. SCOTT, was killed in the head on crash.

Note: date listed for loss of P8583 is incorrect but other details are correct.

Following on from a post from Henk in the archive.

F1180 confirms that Sgt J E Ratigan RCAF was killed when Tiger Moth T7605 crashed into the
reservoir.


The accident card confirms that the aircraft sank and the pilot was seen swimming but later recovered a found to have drowned.


Both engine and airframe initially recorded as Cat E but this was later altered to Cat B for the airframe.


So it looks like the aircraft was salvaged and returned to service.
