    Hello Wesley

    welcome. to the forum.

Pretty much everything that can be gleaned for free from the internet is presented above. if you view his entry on the CWGC website, and view the Grave Registration Scan near the page bottom, https://www.cwgc.org/find-war-dead/c...rawford-allen/

You will see that he was posted to 21 OTU at that time. That's an Operational Training Unit, and was training crews for Bomber Command: http://www.rafweb.org/Organsation/OTU_1.htm

To learn anything more, you will need to obtain his RAF service record, which as he died during the war, you will be entitled to received a truncated copy of for if I recall, UKú30. See
    https://www.gov.uk/get-copy-military...-elses-records

The OTU's were second line units, and larger than a bomber squadron and their day to day diary records do not record individuals or individual crew flights, so there may be a mention of him due to the accident, but beyond that, I wouldn't expect to find him mentioned therein.

best bet is his service record and death certificate, sadly!

From the above, you know how he died, where he died, what he was doing in the RAF at the time (roughly).

    I hope this helps

    Hi Jon

"Samuel Henry Miller 81016 ( a Flight Lieutenant with effect from 26 May, ) was dangerously injured at 09:15 hours in a flying accident involving Lysander W7410?. Admitted to an RAF Hospital, he died of his injuries at 19:00 hours"

Are you sure it was a Lysander as W7410 wasn't issued and I had him in an unknown Hurricane?

The only matter outstanding on L4710 is that most sources I can find say the aircraft crashed on 6 July 1942:

I am suspecting the crash happened on 6th and he died of wounds on the 8th. We need the F1180 here! Also SH Miller previously taken POW in ERitria flying Lysanders as per http://www.rafcommands.com/database/...ame=S+H+Miller
