    Hi Gilles,

I went through the RAF serials books very quickly but unfortunately does not find the plane which fits to your info.

The closes is V8718 of 409 Sq RCAF lost in the nigh 17/18 April 1943 on intruder mission - crew P/O HARKER BLAIR MILLER (RCAF) and Sgt WILLIAMS VIVIAN IVOR (RAF) commemorate on Runnymede memorial.
Are you sure it was a 125 Sq plane?

From my notes V8718 was on a Ranger mission over Lisieux and Vire when it failed to return, and operated from Acklington. Would Morlaix fit with that?

    Hi Bill,
thanks for additional info. It seems to me a little bit strange to fly from Acklington to Lisieux as it is 670 km!

But anyway Morlaix lies much more to the west and also the date does not fits so it is not the aircraft Gilles is looking for:-(

    Thanks Bill and Pavel,

the only thing I am definitely sure is the place : the Morlaix River.

The other data (Beaufighter, 125 Sq. ) I have no real certainty.

I agree it is a challenge to find THE right plane, starting only from the location !

Thanks again and I look forward to hearing from you.

    Gilles
