    Nick,

No sign of him in Oliver Clutton-Brocks "Footprints" but the name does appear on Ross' POW lists with a different middle initial and the service number R/106227 and POW number 43235.

There are 20 telephone listings in Saskatchewan for that name:

    http://www.canada411.ca/search/si/1/Tysowski/sask

Which isn't to say that this may be your man here. Note this man is in Alberta:

    http://www.gg.ca/honours/search-recherche/honours-desc.asp?lang=e&TypeID=esm&id=30008

Only six telephone listings in Alberta using Canada411. No one called Albert but there is a Bert.

    Regards,

    Dave

    Default R106227 Sgt. A. J. Tysowski

    G'day Nick

Your man first shows up in the 440th R.C.A.F. Casualty List (dated Dec. 6, 1942) as seriously ill as a a result of injuries sustained on active service.

He is mentioned again in the 661st R.C.A.F. dated the 23rd of August, 1943 as missing on ops.

    His father's name was Jacob.

I checked Chorley's 1943 volume but could not find this man. I'll check again when I have more time.

    Cheers...Chris

    Hello All,

Could Sgt Tysowski have been involved in the following incident:

    1-11-1942
    No.415 Sqn RCAF
    Hampden TB I AT193

    1905:
While landing at St Eval on return from a shipping strike, hit a lorry and the petrol dump and burnt out. One man killed and three injured.

CAN J/5815 F/O (Pilot) John Norden GODFREY RCAF +
    ? Injured
    ? Injured
    ? Injured

The Hampden File/Moyle might enlighten us.

    Hi Nick,

Toronto Star of 3 May 1945 lists him among the 133 newly released PoWs as a W/O from Veregin, Saskatchewan.

Ancestry has an A.J. Tysowki listed here, which is 15km from Veregin. And 411.ca still has the same listing.

    Thanks Guys,

    This is our man.

I have him down at Veregin from my Father's POW log.

I spoke to him on Tuesday, a little information obtained but will keep you informed. There is no doubt that he was injured at this time.

    Regards,

    Nick
