    Default 126 Squadron Spitfires

According to the usual reference sources the following Spitfire Vb's were in service from August 1943 [ probably in some cases until early 1944 ]. All in the UK.

    BL 329
    BL 368
    BL 486
    BL 589
    BL 851
    BL 941
    BM 199
    BM 362
    BM 423
    BM 627

At this period in time 126 Squadron were in Malta, is this a mass typo or am i missing something.

I would guess the movement cards referred to No. 126 Airfield HQ RCAF (subsequent No. 126 Wing RCAF) and whoever copied them mistook the number for the RAF squadron.

From this list, I can confirm at least the following with RCAF Squadrons:

    BL329 with 412 Squadron from August 1943 (126 Wing)
BL368 with 416 Squadron from March 1942 (14 Group, later Digby Wing)
    BL486 with 412 Squadron
    BL589 with 412 Squadron

and so on. This matches VoyTech's theory quite nicely.

Thank you for clearing that one up, there is a book in preperation for publishing next year
    entitled "126 Wing RCAF".
