Default NO. 19 OTU, Kinloss or Forres?

In my ongoing efforts to place the airman I am researching, I have now followed his trail to No. 19 OTU, only to find he could have been at either Kinloss or Forres. Is there anyway, (short of having his log book, which I don't) of placing him at one or the other in Nov 1943? I have read that both fields and their satellites were used when weather was bad.

He was a navigator bound for No. 1658 CU and then 76 Sqn. His personnel record just says 19 OTU.

Would the school ORB tell me which flight he was in? I see online that C and D flights were at Forres during this period, unless it was waterlogged.

    Default Forres

    G'day

The confusion may lie in the fact that Forres was a a satellite field of Kinloss at the time.

    Cheers...Chris

    Thanks Chris,

The station history I read online did mention that Forres was a secondary location that was being used for 'C' and later 'D' flights of the training unit. It was also a grass field, so I will for now assume my man was at Kinloss and perhaps, on occasion, at Forres.
