    Default ID of mystery item

    Hi All,

Can anyone shed any light on what this item might be please.

    http://i467.photobucket.com/albums/rr31/highhgroundsman/spitfireitem.jpg

Is it aircraft or aircrew gear related, looks like latter to me. It came from a Spitfire crash site. Numbers on it are: `780200A`

    Regards
    Dave.

    Hi Dave,

I'm wondering if this could be something to do with the Oxygen system, possibly the adapter which attached the oxygen tube to the regulator? Looks like it has some sort of bayonet fastener.

Dave have you put this on the Flypast board? You seem to get quite a few tekkies on there and also Peter Arnold world renowned Spitfire expert.

    Default Mystery part

Photobucket image seems to have been deleted. Doesn't sound like a Spitfire part, which would usually begin '300...'.

    Hi Keith,

It is possible that the item, if a standard fitting for say the oxygen system, that it will be a generic part compatible with all British aircraft, as such it would not carry the 300 part prefix.

Just a thought. It would be interesting to know what the item is.

Keep us updated Dave if you do get an answer from another board.

    Hi Jim/Steve & Keith,

Apologies for the late comeback had some server probs.

Thanks for your imput. I think Jim is on the right line that it may be kit related, poss Oxy or air. BTW image is still there Keith, perhaps you missed a bit of when you cut and pasted the address.

Will post back here if I find out anything.

    Regards
    Dave.
