Default ORB's OTU and HCU national archives

    Hi all,

Could someone please tell me in which AIR to find the ORB's of the OTU's and HCU's?I read it somewhere on the forum some weeks ago but can't find it anymore.

    Thanks.

    Steve,

    Thanks for your reply.

The AIR 29 should indeed be the right one.I have one question left.In the AIR/29 are 4763 files. To look for those of 22 OTU and 1652 HCU I have to go through all those files with the button 'next'.Isn't there a quicker way to find the 22 OTU and 1652 HCU files?I tried the seach button but no luck.

    No.19 OTU is AIR 29/662 & AIR 29/663.

    No.1663 HCU is AIR 29/613.

A tip for searching the catalogue for OTUs, they are entered as No. ## Station, so the easy way to look up No.19 is to search for Kinloss and it gives No.19 Kinloss the HCUs seemed to a little random, No.1663 is No. 1663 Conversion Unit, Rufforth.

    Norman,
Just be aware that AIR29/613 is also the reference that the following HCU's also come under........
    1654,1655,1656,1657,1658,1659,1660,1661,1662 and 1664.

    hello,

Indeed some HCU ORBs are pretty slim so several of them are contained in only one volume / reference. And the volumes are also very thick...

With large numbers (like the HCU), just type that number in the first box, and AIR 29 in the third one, and click on search. For small numbers, you can have duplicate units (EFTS, SFTS, OTU, MU, etc) so it doesn't work that fine.

As for HCUs' ORBs, note that from one time in 1944, there were not filed any more as such, and the last line in the ORB explains to refer to the Station ORB. These are in the AIR 28 series.

If you know the name of the station, you can also try that as suggested.

Years ago, with a previous version of the online catalogue, I was able to print pages of it, and make my own little catalogue, which is very useful, but not complete.
