Default W/O Edwin Henry Herbert 150 Sqn

Hi, I am trying to research this pilot 566527 W/O Edwin Henry Herbert 150 Sqn, who was killed flying a Wellington on 10th Oct 1942, I beleive he was also awarded an MID earlier in the year. Can anybody help me out with the cause of the crash and any other details? I would also be interested to find out what other Ops he flew, thanks in advance, Rick

    Hello All,

The (rear gunner) Sgt Brown, mentioned in this crew (BCL3/237), is in fact, AUS406855 Sgt Thomas Victor BROWN RAAF. Brown survived this crash, and the war.

    Hi,
I am still having trouble locating any info on W/O Herbert, although he is listed as 150 Sqn he does not show up in the ORB. Is there any possibility he was with 103 or 576 sqn who were also stationed at Elsham Wolds?

Also it states that Sgt Allworth was the pilot, however CWGC states Allworth as a WOP and Herbert as pilot, the plot thickens...

Also his aircraft Wellington III BK311, JN- ? - Which squadron do the letter JN refer to - 150 i presume?

    Cheers,
    Rick

Hi, just refreshing this enquiry, I still have not confirmed which squadron he was with, has anybody got a copy of the 150 ORB for Sep/Oct 1942 to see if he is mentioned in the text?
    Cheers,
    Rick
