Sgt (WOp/Ag) Leslie H. ROGERS - 1177604.

B - Not found in Flight archives:
LAC Michael J. O'BRIEN - 1023110.

C - Proposed aircraftloss for this day:
Magister I - N3835 - 122 Sqn - crashed in forced landing Gadding Moor, near Barnsley, Yorkshire.

There is an L.A/C. M. J. O'Brian; listed in the Dec 3d 1942 magazine, DOAS.

CWGC appears to have no one with that spelling of O'Brian, all are O'Brien and the man you seek is the only one listed for 1942.

Theres an 88 year old Edward J Box registered in Tonbridge district, strange co-incidence.
However, there is a 34 year old Edward John Box registered in Wick district, Caithness, Scotland.

Ivy E Perham age 22 in Newmarket district, West Suffolk.

there is an Leslie Herbert Rogers age 29 in Drainie district, Moray, Scotland.

Michael J O'Brien age 34 registered in Shrewsbury district, Shropshire

I don't know which district Lossiemouth was in but an un-named member of aircrew was recorded in the 20 OTU ORB on this date. He was killed by a propeller when he walked into its arc, death was recorded as being instantaneous due to severe head injuries. I would suggest that Rogers is the obvious one given that Lossiemouth is in the Moray area.

Edit: Drainie was a renaming of the Lossiemouth and Kinneddar area so Rogers was the person killed by a prop.

Henk, regarding Magister N3835, I have this as hitting an obstruction on taking off from a field where it had previously force landed on a cross country training flight. Sadly no details or names of the pilot/crew for you. Its sounding like it was non-fatal.
