    Henk,

    Re: Lysander IIIA - V9798 - 1488 Flt. - AUS402840 F/Sgt (Pilot) Arthur Gordon Herbert ARNOT RAAF.

1253702 LAC Michael John SUMMERS RAFVR, also killed in this accident.

See Item Notes Arnot's A705, NAA A705 163/88/137 (NAA have filed Arnot's A705 under an incorrect service number ie 402820).

Arnot buried Maldon Cemetery, Row 61. Grave 95!

    Hi Henk
Mole,39, registered at Ely, Cambridgeshire.?Raf Hospital
Whalley,23, registered at Bedford, Bedfordshire and recorded in Warner's Blenheim as killed on N3585.No other names given so he may have been solo
Goldfarb didn't come on the register but he was from London and was taken home for burial. He was Jewish but it still ought to have come up on a register

    Henk,

    The Times November 25, 1942. p.7.

Died of Wounds or Injuries received on Active Sevice:

    Summers, L/A/C. M.J.

Surely, his death was registered somewhere.

    Dennis,

    Thanks for that.

Now, why is Summers commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial?

    Any takers?

Like Henk suggests, a lost grave perhaps, high panel number.

he is not on the RAF GRO register so it may be that his family buried him themselves and all contact with CWGC was lost.

there was a Michael J Summers born in Bristol district, Q1 1920, so maybe late 1919.
