I only knew Eddie through his replies on the forum and the occasional personal e-mail but he was helpful to me too. Does anyone have a short biography of him they could share?

I am shocked to learn of the death of Eddie, he was a true mate and always happy to help with any Bomber Command related subject, his passion for No.158(B) Squadron was second to none.

Good bye old mate, you will be missed ......... I will have one or two for you. !!

    Hi All,

Eddie had told me that he had cancer but it still comes as a shock the news of his passing. He was good friend who was only too happy to help with any question. Friends of 158 Sqn will be sad with this news.

RIP mate, like Steve I'll have one to you later on today.

    John.

Like Dave Fuller I only "knew" Eddy from this forum but it is still like the loss of an old friend. If it was cancer I hope that, if his passing was inevitable, it wasn't too prolonged or painful and my condolences go to those he leaves behind
    Regards and Best wishes

Like many others on the forum, I never met Eddie but built up a friendship with him through correspondence in connection with his great passion, 158 Squadron. We are all the poorer for his passing.

I can only echo the sentiments already expressed. I'm really grateful for all you did for me Eddie - sleep well.
