Halifax VI RG561 of 347 Sqn (L8-C) took off Elvington, Yorkshire, on a ferry flight to l'Armée de l'air Bordeaux-Mérignac. Pilot - Sgt-chef Paul ROQUE, 37127 - lost control on take-off and crashed Sheep Walk's Farm, Esrick near Deighton, 8 miles SE of Elvington. WELLARD baled the aircraft from a too low altitude. Sgt (Bombaimer) Henri J.A. PRADES - 36925 - dien in the crash.
    Regards,
    Henk.
