    Default 19 june 1945, 2 GSU

    Hi,

    On 19 june 1945, a collision between two aircraft of 2 GSU killed four French aircrew (M. Pissinger, M. Beaume, R. Vicherat et A. Deutsch).

    According to Air Britain only one Mitchell seems to be destroyed FL680 whereas the KJ337 or K617 (probable candidate) are not soc at this date.

    Does anybody know what Colin Cummings gives in his "The price of peace" ?

    TIA

    Bertrand

    Hi Bertrand

    Cummings gives M. Pissinger, M. Beaume and R. Vicherat aboard FL680, but no mention of A. Deutsch.

    Bertrand,
    I've S.Lt (Nav) Marcel L. PISSINGER - 1056;
    Sgt (Airgunner) Marcel L. BEAUNE - 1033;
    Sgt (?) "Albert" DEUTSCH - 35065, and
    Sgt (Pilot) Roger L. VICHERAT.
    Formation flying - crashed Esher Common, Surrey.
    Are the matricules correct and what was the matricule of Vicherat ? Are they all still buried at Brookwood ?
    Regards,
    Henk.

    In the link given by AlanW :

    http://paulbogaert.wordpress.com/2009/09/16/cimetiere-de-brookwood-surrey

    there is the grave of Albert Deutsch. Date is 21 june 1945. Caption under the photograph is wrong.

    Only Deutsch and Vicherat are buried in Brookwood.
