Default Death of Corporal Douglas Brian Adams.

It would be most appreciated if someone could provide the circumstances of the death of the above named airman please.

His Service Number was 1435368 and he was 22 years of age at the time of his death on the 28th of September 1944. He is buried at Mazargues War Cemetery, Marseilles.

    Thank you.

his name is listed Died On Active Service in the RAF Casualty lists in Flight magazine, car accident or illness likely,

The GRO RAF overseas death list gives his unit as "P & S Unit" which is new to me.

    Dennis.

Thanks for the amazingly fast response. I suspected it would be accident or illness. Is it definitely the Provost and Security Unit?

    Thanks again for the help.

Sorry, I was guessing it was Provost & Security Unit from a google search.

P&SS stands for Provost and Security Services, so seems likely.

Sorry to bump this back up but just wanted to thank you for your help.

I have managed to trace the niece of Corporal Adams and she confirms he died in a motorcycle accident whilst carrying out his duties as a despatch rider.

    Thanks again.

    Regards,

    Kevin Mears.
