Following Dennis's work, GULL looks a likely candidate for Z7157.
A crash site of 1 mile W of Kinnell would be about 1 mile E of Guthrie.
This would be about 15 miles NE of RAF Tealing, where 56 OTU were based at the time.

The ages that Dennis has found for Gull and Tew match those on CWGC

Thanks friends for all your helpful info.
Regards and enjoy the oncoming weekend,
Henk.
Gull was recorded for the 1st October 1942, must have been very close to midnight.
October 1st 1942, “Flying accident to Hurricane Z7157, aircraft dived into ground when pilot 658080 Sgt Gull was engaged in night flying at Kinnell, pilot was killed.”
