Default "Blue on Blue in WW2"

Some considerable time ago (before 2007 I believe) someone was seeking information about a Ju88 destroyed by McClure and Smith of 263 Squadron. Also included in the thread was a reference to a 1401 Met Flight Blenheim shot down by Brennan and La Gette.

The contributor also indicated he had a book due for publication "Blue on Blue in WW2", but I'm unable to find a reference to the book on the Internet.

Unfortunately I cannot find the relevant thread in the old archive, and it doesn't appear to be in the current forum.

    Questions:

    1. Does anyone know if said book was ever published?
    2. Does the gentleman who started the thread still contribute to the RAFCommands forum?

(There are references to La Gette in the current forum but these aren't the ones I'm seeking.)

Hello Brian, it sounds like you are looking for Brian Cull, and probably the 'Friendly Fire' thread in TOCH. He lurks around this excellent website too, so he will probably find you if you don't find him.

    Regards,

Default Not a gentleman, nor a lurker but I'm the one!!

    Hi Brian

I'm the guy writing the blue-on-blue series - title probably will be changed to AERIAL FRIENDLY FIRE in WWII - or something like that. Volume I (1939-40) is nearing completion and is due out 'early' next year (fingers crossed). The recession has caused havoc with my proposed books and there is now a backlog of five titles awaiting publication!!

But 2010 looks promising, so far, and two of the above now have 'definite' dates.

Anyway, how can I be of assistance? Or you to me?

Fancy forgetting my name, Brian - it's Brian!

    Cheers
    Brian

Thank you all gentlemen (and apologies Brian). I was making the inquiry on behalf of a friend who has an interest in the Le Gette/1401 Met Flight incident. I'll email you.

    Brian
