    Default attacks on Boulogne-sur-Mer, 15th September 1944

    Hello,

A friend of mine is studying the attacks prior to the liberation of Boulogne-sur-Mer, in September 1944. He has read in a book (maybe Dover at war, or a similar volume), that Fleet Air Arm units, and also Coastal Command units, made attacks against Schnellboats in Boulogne harbor on 15th September 1944.

I'm at pain to find the relevant references at The National Archives. I'm not familiar at all with the Fleet Air Arm (ADM series I presume), and I thought that I could start checking Coastal Command in AIR 15. But there are 957 files in the latter, and entering various code words in the search box doesn't give me good results.

Thanks in advance for any leads or pointers for any ORBs or reports in TNA about this subject.

    hello,

Thanks Jerry for this link. My German is quite rusted but I picked up the interesting bits and pieces, but no attack on S-Boote near Boulogne on 15th September 1944 is mentioned. I'm wondering if the original source of my friend is correct.

    Cheers

    Joss
