Hello,
Could someone with the appropriate AB volume, please provide a history of Wellington VIII HX507.

Ian,
That's mighty fine service, and exactly what I wanted to hear!
Thank you,
Col.
Col,
I've the info from BATTON's NAA file. Was the a/c 458 Sqn or 221 Sqn as only the non ranked were 458 Sqn, all other miscellaneous f.i. 38 Sqn, 108 Sqn, 221 Sqn.
Regards,
Henk.
Henk,
On checking my file on BATTON, I found that I already had the information I requested on HX507. It came from a Jan 2004 thread of a discussion between yourself, and Errol Martyn.
Whether HX507 was 458 Sqn or 221 Sqn, l still can't say. The 458 Sqn ORB is of no help, and the 458 Sqn history - 'We Find and Destroy:A History of 458 Squadron RAAF Sqaudron' (2002 ed.) p.75, implies that the loss of HX507 occurred on 17-1-1943!
What with attachments/detachments of both aircraft and personnel, the situation is most confusing.
Certainly not helped by the following:

Col,
Keep it for the time being as 458 Sqn (Air Britain: 1443 Flt/1 OADU/458).

Henk.
