Default Sgt Mieczlaw Cwiklinski (305 Sqn)

    Hi,

Maybe a Polish member can help me to obtain information relating to Sgt Mieczlaw Cwiklinski from 305 Squadron. He was the wireless operator in a Wellington hit by a German night fighter during the night of 28-29 August 1942. Three crew members parachuted down (Sgt Kula evaded capture, but Sgt Cwiklinski and F/O Aleksandrowicz were made POW). The pilot, F/Lt Czolowski managed to come back with his crippled bomber at Manston. I would like to know the fate of Sgt Cwiklinski, where he was interned and information of his life after the war. Many thanks in anticipation.

    Regis,
According to Foootprints on the Sands of Time, your man was pow at Stalag 8b, escaped on 16/4/43 with a Sgt Pelc and was with the Polish resistance until January 1945.

Sorry for being off topic but is F/L Czolowski the same individual who later became C/O of 305 (Polish) Sqn during 1943
