    Default 61 Squadron- F/O D.Paul and crew

    Hi.
Has anyone got the names for the rest of Don Paul's crew and any details?

One of the gunners was,i think, Stanley Billington RAFVR who survived the war.

Took part in the Nuremeberg raid,30-3-1944 and they landed at Marston.

    Many thanks

    Default 61 Squadron

I was wondering if it possible for Alan or Linda to send file on to me as my Father R. Brazzier who passed away 25/04/2012 was part of the crew and I would love to know any information. I have a photo here with my Dad and another person who could be one of the crew in their younger days, but none of the family know who it is. J. Miller who we know as Douglas keeps in touch with us and was at my dads funeral.

    Hi,
Will get in touch with you off board via email, but i can tell you now, that this crew were extremely lucky to have returned from the Nuremburg operation of 30th March 44.
Both of the starboard engines were rendered u/s after 3 attacks by a JU88 nightfighter, and any moveable equipment that could be removed, was thrown out of the aircraft in order to make the aircraft lighter for the return journey.

    Hi,
I've found 29 ops for this crew, from the time they were posted in from 1661 CU, (11/10/43) to the time they were split up and posted out to various training units in May 44.

Thank you for your reply Alan. I am hoping that someone may have a photo of the crew which I know exists, only my fathers disappeared from his Mothers house when she passed away. I am not sure but was led to believe all the Crew signed it. The name on the Lancaster they flew in was Just Jane, of which I do have a card of this. also my Father had a certificate when he was made a Warrant Officer and that has also disappeared and we would like to know where we might be able to get another one. If any one can help with either of these things i would love to hear from them.
