    Sorry Henk,

I have not sorted out who was on which aircraft DD839/W6060 yet.

I've only scratched the surface of 4 OTU records for the moment.

    Regards
    Ross

    Hi Ross,
The Australian National Archives have Bell, Jorgenson, Mellersh, Davidson and Gloor on DD839.

    Default Sunderlands 27 November 1943

Bit of confusion on who was on which a/c, the accident cards say 3 killed and 5 injured on DD839 and 5 killed and 6 injured on W6060. The 4(C)OTU ORB (AIR 29/609) says 7 injured, 1 killed and 2 missing in 'Y' (DD839) and ties with the record card for 'G' (W6060). Adastral House confirmed to me that Bell & Davidson were in DD839 (though their records apparently said 'DD389'). In addition to the injured you list, I have:-

    425290 F/O A E Evers RAAF (WOp/AG)
    427042 Sgt R G Patterson RAAF (AG)
    1008808 Sgt J Saunders RAFVR (F/E)
    549584 F/S A J Wilson RAFVR (Wop/AG)

My notes from 4(C)OTU ORB don't include the names - I suspect they may not have been stated (hard to recall - it was in 1975!).

Would be good to have this one resolved.

    Keith

Three more possible 'candidates' for Sunderlands DD839 and W6060, commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial:
    F/Sgt Neville R. MUNDAY - 405276 - RAAF - Panel 193
    Sgt William E. BOWEN - 1118317 - Panel 143
    Sgt William BRIDGES - 1132937 - Panel 143.

Thanks Col for info on Sunderlands DD839 and W6060. Can't add anything at the moment, only confirm that the fatal casualties named indeed were all on my list unaccounted for. Have to wait for a long time as Ross may start with the OTU-losses Coastal Command after completion of his books on CC-losses 1942 up to 1945 !
    Regards,
    Henk.
