    Ignore my previous.

I have EP724 Spitfire VbT showing as sent to Gibraltar on 14/09/1942, then CAT E 14/11/42.

    CWGC info would help:

    Name: BASSETT, FRANCIS BERNARD
    Initials: F B
    Nationality: United Kingdom
    Rank: Flight Lieutenant
    Regiment/Service: Royal Air Force
    Unit Text: 152 Sqdn.
    Age: 22
    Date of Death: 14/11/1942
    Service No: 41982
Additional information: Son of James Patrick and Anne Bassett, of Wembley Park, Middlesex.
    Casualty Type: Commonwealth War Dead
    Grave/Memorial Reference: Panel 2, Column 1.
    Memorial: MALTA MEMORIAL

    I'd possibly suggest this aircraft:
    EP724 VbT CBAF M46 38MU 31-7-42 76MU 3-8-42 Empire Heath 29-8-42 Gibraltar 14-9-42 CE ops 14-11-42

I've for Spitfire EP724: Gibraltar (Special Erection Party). Hit gunpost on take-off and undercarriage damaged, baled out over sea and aircraft crashed into Gibraltar harbour. Pilot rescued. Sgt Albert T. TYSOWSKI - RCAF R/106227. (PoW 15-7-1943 on Spitfire AD290 of 602 Sqn - Camp 357 - Nr 43235).
Perhaps one of our Canadian friends may confirm Tysowski on EP724.
    Regards,
    Henk.
