Hi, sorry to jump into this posting.
Is Henk, or anyone, able to say which aircraft one F/O A R H Maynard RAFVR (117995) was killed flying with 185 Squadron on 22nd November 1942. He is on the Malta Memorial which suggests he may have been lost flying over the Med on this date.
He was another of my local lads killed flying and although the CWGC database have his parents as living in Ebberston, Yorkshire he is actually on the neighbouring village of Allerston's War Memorial.
The then Sgt Maynard had a minor mishap in Spitfire N3236 at Catterick on 13th September 1941 with 122 Squadron.
Thanks in advance, regards Rich Allenby
Rich,
Maynard was shot down by a Bf109 over Sicily flying No.185 Sqn. Spitfire VbT EP696.
