Default Jack Haseldene/Hazeldene. 2/168 Squadron pilot

    Hi

Does any one have more information about Jack Haseldene or Hazeldene? (I had the z spelling in my notes) but in Christopher Shores and Chris Thomas book 22nd Tactical Air Force Vol 3" page 566 in Errata they note ..."F/Lt JK Haseldene of 2 squadron was not killed as stated....but survived as as a POW."

The Gazette also lists a J. K. HASELDEN (79793) in May 42 but does not give his first name.
I would also like to know when he crashed and which POW camp he went to as I can't find him on the excellent www.prisonerofwar.org.uk/ website.

    Cheers

Shows up as a POW at Stalag Luft 1, Barth:

Service number is slightly different that yours here but matches the number on Ross' POW lists:

    Motherbird,

Given the apparent line of many of your posts regarding pilots serving with a specific grouping of Squadrons, it may help you in your research to add to your library a copy of Hans Onderwater's history of No.II(AC) Squadron "Second to None". A number of the pilots you have asked questions about including F/L Jack Haselden served with that Squadron and are mentioned in the text.

    Just a suggestion.
