Default RAAF aircrew departing USA for UK

    Hi All,

Course 58 at SFTS 4 Saskatoon left for the UK from New York on the 23/11/42 and arrived on 1/12/42. Does anyone know which ship they crossed over on, as no convoys left on that date I assume they left on a fast troopship.

    Thanks,

    John.

    John,

I'm fairly certain that this was the 'Queen Elizabeth' sailing alone from New York for Scotland.

The ship is listed as departing 22 November on the website noted below, but I suspect that this date probably relates to the embarkation of the 15,000 (US?) troops and that the actual sailing was on the 23rd (info I have for RNZAF personnel ex-Canada training strongly suggest the 23rd as the sailing date also).
