    Malcolm,
I had HUNTSINGER on W9014 6-12-1942; do you mean that he was wounded 30-11-1942 on DL226 (stalled off turn on take-off and flew into ground at Sibson; aircraft destroyed by fire).
    Regards,
    Henk.

    Hi Henk

As Ross states he died in hospital from injuries sustained on 30 Nov it rules him out being in W9014 the previous day. Rauceby had a burns unit so likely he was sent there after being burnt in DL226 on 30 Nov.

Thanks Ross for confirmation F/Lt BUTCHER on V4051. CWGC has his date of death 6.12.42.

    Colin/Malcolm,
Don't understand your discussion on Sgt J.A. GAYLAY; please advise.

    Regards,
    Henk.

    Hi Henk

Nice to hear you are back.

Colin was confirming that Huntsinger died from burns and then advising that a second casualty, Gayley, was killed at the time of the incident.

    Hello

ACW2 Phyllis TUCKER - 2076023 - the Western Mail of January 8th 1943 reported the following:

    Non-Stop Lorry Killed Girl
"I am satisfied this girl was knocked down by the lorry. Either for want of courage or some other reason the driver failed to stop. I cannot conceive of anything more disreputable," said Mr. David Rees, Coroner, returning a verdict of "accidental death" at the inquest at Barry on Thursday on Aircraftwoman Phyllis Tucker, Clynder Street, Swansea.
The Coroner was addressing George Davies, Hywel Crescent, Barry, the driver, who admitted his companion in the cab, David Rees, said to him after passing the two W.A.A.F.s., "That was a narrow shave."

    Regards

    Simon
