    Looking for the exact crashlocation of Anson 6709 of 33 ANS. (I've info on crew).

    No. 33 ANS was in Regina, Saskatchewan, as I suspect you know already, so it will be somewhere around there.

    G'day Henk

    Anson Mk.I s/n R6709 from No. 33 Air Navigation School at Hamilton, Ontario.

    The aircraft crashed 1 mile south-east of Avon at 23:00 hours while the crew was on a night navigation exercise. The Anson struck trees during bad visibilty during a snowstorm.

    Conclusion of the A.I.B. was: "An experienced staff pilot on a night navigation exercise, endeavored to fly "Contact" in a heavy snowstorm at night, and crashed into trees on a wooded rise in ground."

    Sorry guys, I got No. 33 ANS mixed up with No. 3 AOS. Overdue for new glasses!
