    Hi Henk
I found a CATHLEEN Patterson,21,(no middle initial) registered at Aylesbury,Buckinghamshire a common registration for RAF Halton Hospital, but CWGC has a Catherine Smith Patterson also 21 who is buried in an Inner Hebrides Cemetery in Argyllshire ,Scotland.I suggest you leave this one open for now despite the common age.Perhaps Dennis can look for her in the Scottish register.
I found I have a few credits left on Scotlands people but there was no Catherine Smith Patterson, or Catherine Patterson
    Regards
    Dick

I agree with Dick. There does not appear to be a Catherine Smith Patterson or Paterson in the Scottish Records. I have extended the age group in the event of a mistake with her age and also looked at female Patterson /Paterson records but no luck. I see from the CWGC she was the adopted daughter of Susan Patterson and the niece of a Mrs. E. Stewart. Her death has either been registered somewhere other than Scotland or, a long shot, she may be registered under her birth surname.

I completely agree with you about no "thank you" contact.

    Best wishes

    Douglas

    Thanks Dave & Douglas.
Douglas: Good to hear you agree about the 'thank you' contact. Moreover I always close my first message of the thread with a 'thanks in advance' for a possible help.
    Best regards and Easter greetings,
    Henk.

Looking at this again, there is a P/O T Stepheson listed as Wounded on active service in the January 14th Flight magazine. The death index similarly does not have a middle initial.

Probable that he was injured in November or even October. If he Died of Wounds long after the event he may have slipped through the cracks of the casualty lists.

He also has the (Pilot) trade tagged on teh CWGC entry, indicating a flying accident I beleive.
