    Default Mosquito book & author

Could someone name the book-and author-on the Mosquito that includes claims and
claimants as an appendix. It's not an Osprey volume.

    Bruce,

'Mosquito' by C. Martin Sharp & Michael J. F. Bowyer, first pub in 1967.

Appendix 15 'Enemy Aircraft Destroyed in Air-to-Air Combat by Mosquito Fighters during Operations over Britain anhd the Continent. (runs to 14 pages in my paperback copy).

Sadly, that list is far from complete. Are you after a specific claim?

Thanks lads. I know the book you mentioned Errol and-whilst an excellent work-I didn't think it mentioned names of pilots in the appendix-is that right? The book I'm thinking of is also more recent. I'm not actually after any specific claim.

    Bruce,

    For 100 Group you have:

Confounding The Reich:The Operational History of 100 Group (Bomber Support) RAF.
    Bowman,Martin W. & Tom Cushing.
    Sparkford:P.S.L.,1996
    pp.215-28

    Appendix 3 - 100 Group Fighter Air-to Air Victories December 1943 - April 1945.

By: Date, Type, Serial no. Squadron, Enemy aircraft, Location & other details & Pilot, Nav/radar op.

    Col.

    Bruce,

No crew names mentioned; has date (earliest 29.5.42 [i.e., earlier than the book Col mentions in his post], sqn, aircraft serial, e/a type and brief notes.

There's an Osprey book, "Mosquito Aces of World War Two". There's also an older book by Martin Bowman called "de Havilland Mosquito" and another to do with 2nd TAF (older one, not the excellent and more recent Shores & Thomas books). (Thanks Neilly!)

    Default Mosquitos

    Hi

If you go onto www.alibris.co.uk and put in their search bit Mosquito aircraft it will bring up anything with mozzies in title. I have found it invaluable for finding books which are out of print and to give me ideas whats about. I buy a lot of second hand books from there, Amazon & Abe books because they can be expensive new or are out of print....

    Good luck
    Dee

Thanks again boys; one of the books by Martin Bowman might be the one I remember, though the claims list-destroyed & probables-was quite comprehensive as far as units go,
so probably wasn't 'Confounding the Reich'.
