    Default 71 OTU Ismailia, Sep-Dec 1944

Can anyone tell me please, which aircraft were being used for training at 71 OTU at Ismailia, Egypt, between September and December 1944?

Even better still, does anyone have the ORB from this period and is able to identify the course dates during this period and/or the arrival of an NCO pilot by the name of William R. Pairman on or about 21 Sep 1944, please?

    Thanks

    Hi Steve

Although I can't help out with the course details, the aircraft would have been Harvard, Hurricane and Spitfire Vc's according to the info I have

    Hi Steve,

till my next visit of Kew I can be only of a little assistance but I can add that the unit was training fighter pilots on tpyes used by the Deasert Air Force so you can add into your list also few trohpies from the "wild west":-): Tomahawk, Mohawk and Mustang.
Check your email - ithis is all what I can provide you.
