Malcolm,
TSGNO (Allison) mentions on page 410 (biography F/O D.E.C. Lawrence):
LAWRENCE, DONALD EARLE CRAIG, F/O(P), J27725, from London, Ontario. Killed Apr.7/44, #76 OTU. There were two crews in Wellington aircraft #LN324 who were engaged in a cross-country exercise when they crashed in the Sinai Desert foothills.
All are commemorated on the Alamein Memorial and Allison has following names besides F/O LAWRENCE, unfortunately CHALLIS' name not listed:
F/O J. BUCKLEY - 134357;
2/Lt C.H.A. CONSTANTIN - SAAF 328817V;
F/Sgt D.F. BARNARD - 1382524;
F/Sgt A.D. BRAND - 1021613;
F/Sgt A.G. RICHES - 1809238;
Sgt H. McILWRAITH - 1074143;
Sgt G. TRIBE - 927238, and
Sgt A.R. WOPSHOT - 1607113.
Makes a total of nine and two crews at least must have been ten, so I do believe Challis could be added to the list.
Who may confirm ?
Regards,
Henk.
