    Default S/Ldr N.A. Pearce, 76 Sqn - died 1 Jan 1939

Can anyone help Namrondooh on this one? Pearce died on New Year's Day at Marlborough but Chorley's history says no more about him. Can anyone give us the cause of death or where it was registered?

Thanks Malcolm. I found him in a collection of Air Force List officers who died 1929-1939 that Errol put up a few years ago. It lists his Christian names as Nicholas Anthony but says only "died". Norman is wondering if it was an air crash of some kind. The closest base is RAF Yatesbury but it's hard to figure why a S/Ldr from 76 Sqn would be in Wiltshire. Of course, it could be a leave and he died in his home county.

    Errol's list is at: http://www.rafcommands.com/forum/showthread.php?t=314

    Default Air List

Could anyone please give me the service number and any AIR LIST entries showing details on bomber pilot Nicholas Anthony PEARCE. Born c1904. Granted commission 1 November 1927 and again on 1 March 1929, which is confusing

    Saw service with:-
    Night Flying Unit, Biggin Hill, 3 x Vimy's (1929)
Electrical and Wireless School Cranwell (1931)
    Mount Batten (1932)
    Aircraft Depot Iraq, Hinaidi (1933)
    102 Sqn Finningley (1937)
    76 Sqn Finningley (1938)
Died in service as Squadron Leader 1 January 1939 age 34 yrs

    Thank you
    Norman
