Default Liberator VI 'E' of 206 Squadron

Can anyone please confirm the serial of the above aircraft, badly shot up during an attack on U-boats in the Baltic on the night of February 2/3, 1945? The pilot was Flt Lt David Beaty.
    Thanks and regards:
    Robert

    Robert,

Peter Gunn's squadron history, 'Naught Escapes Us', features a lengthy account of this action on pp89-90 but does not record the serial number. He gives the date as the night of 3/4 Feb 45, incidentally, not 2/3.

    Robert,

Also noticed that on p90 of the book there is a photo captioned 'Repairs to EW322 carried out by SAL at Leuchars February 1945'. The view is largely confined to a rather badly damaged starboard wing trailing edge. Could this perhaps have been Beaty's Lib?

    Thanks, Errol.
Never thought to look at the book, which I have! Quite right - it was the night of Feb 3/4, 1945.
