Sgt (Pilot) Donald BULLOCK - 1116352 - 272 Sqn - KOAS 9-1-1943 and lies buried in the Alexandria (Hadra) War Mem. Cem., Egypt. The sqn at that time was based at Ta'Qali on Malta. The only loss I can find for this sqn was a Mk. IF serial V8337 presumed ditched between Haifa and Cyprus, but may not be the aircraft looking for. Who may help me out ?
Regards and thanks for your help.
Henk.
Henk,
In relation to Beaufighter IF V8337. There are two other names on the Alamein Memorial which need to be considered in this loss. They are:
1000049 Sgt Leslie HODGSON RAFVR - 9-1-1943 - 272 Sqn. Alamein Memorial. Column 270.
and...
1079627 Sgt Alfred WATSON RAFVR - 9-1-1943 - 272 Sqn. Alamein Memorial. Column 272.
I have a note in my records that Sgt Watson, was a Sgt (Pilot).
What does Flight have to say about these two airmen? (I'm having problems with PDF's at the moment).
Col.
Hodgson is listed on his own as missing, or at least not with Watson or Bullock. -
The OCR is too poor, I tried pasting it in here but too many names missing from the recognised text, no time to retype it

Dennis,
Thanks.
What has Flight got to say about 1079627 Sgt Alfred WATSON?
Col.
Sorry, two Sgt L Hogdson's are listed as missing, two different magazines.
The Flight magazine April 8th 1943 includes Sgt L Hodgson and Sgt A Watson. Not sure if that status of missing includes MIA and MOAS.
Both then later turn up:
PREVIOUSLY REPORTED MISSING, NOW PRESUMED KILLED ON ACTIVE SERVICE:
Sgt. L. Hodgson; Sgt, A. Watson.
Bullock is KOAS, there are no other Commonwelath air burials in Hadra cemetery on that date and no other RAF for the month in Hadra. Maybe on his own in an aircraft.

Dennis,
No apologies necessary.
Thanks for your help. I had done my homework on Bullock, then my system went ballistic, preventing me from checking out Hodgson and Watson.
