Seeking any information about Wellington Bomber from 148 squadron crashing 5 Oct 1942 near Sollum a few miles west of Bardia on bombing mission to Tobruk. Probably flying from Egypt.

    Default wellington bomber IC DV562

Thanks for the information, my father was the second pilot Sgt J Murphy 656645. I have very little information about him during the period July 1942- April 1945, I know that he was in Stalagluft 3 in dec 1942 (I have a photo of him with five other POW`s) and I know that he was released fom Stalag 357 on the 16th April 1945 by the 8th Hussars 7th Armoured Division.
I have a couple of group photos probably when he was training at Grantham? but no names, and the photo of the group at Stalagluft 3 again with no names, which I would be happy to share with others.

Thanks once again for your information.

    Dave Murphy
