    Default Stirling V8-'A', 570 Squadron

    Hello,

This Stirling would be LJ622 of 570 Squadron that was badly hit on 23 September 1944 and crashed at Manston on return of the operations of 'Market Garden'.
Unfortunately I don't have the ORB of this day so I would like to know if an airman named 'Browne' was onboard.
In more in other files LJ622 is known as V8-W so which is the good letter? And is LJ622 V8-'A'?
I thank you in advance for your help.

According to Bryce Gomersall's book, The Stirling File (revised edition), LJ622 was with 570 Squadron as V8:A for 12 sorties, was then transferred to 295 Squadron but has no recorded sorties and then was transferred back to 570 Squadron as V8:M. After 3 sorties, it was passed to 1665 CU.

    Default 570 & 295 Sqdn Stirling crash

I wonder if this ties in with my post on Ray Bagnall who was certainly on Market Garden and did crash once in Belgium and was shot down twice, this may be his other crash - since he walked away from both!
