    Default Met Fortress Probes

Am looking to identify a couple of probes mounted on the nose of Met Fortresses for some book artwork -- they are most likely temperature or pressure-related. Is anyone an expert on these matters or know someone who is? Have a photo I can forward.

(As I write I'm the only person in the known universe logged in. Eerie!)

    Regards:

    Robb,

I'm not an expert, but Peter's book, 'Even the birds were walking', has a couple of Fortress photos showing the instrument fix, and I suspect what you are seeing is a psychrometer - an instrument for measuring temperatures. Email me through the forum and if it isn't I will pass the query on to Peter Rackliff (you might have his address yourself). The only problem is he's not replying to my emails at the moment so I'm a little concerned about him. However, I also have another WW2 MAO contact.
