    Default RAF Millfield ORB

Can anyone help, with a copy of the ORB for RAF Millfield for February 1943,
I am looking for anything related to a Sgt. MA Dixon RCAF, who was killed that day

    Many thanks

    Hi Chris,

    4-2-1943
    No.59 OTU
    Hurricane I V6989

Dived into the ground at Till Bridge, Chillingham.

CAN R/133535 Sgt (Pilot) Murray Allen DIXON RCAF - Killed.

Buried Kirknewton (St Gregory) Churchyard. Grave 4.

    See:

http://www.milfield.org.uk/post-war.htm (Albeit, quoting incorrect date ie. 8-2-1943).

    and CWGC.

    Others will undoubtedly add more.

I've got a copy of the page for February 43, it doesn't say much, and mis-spells the name.

"Fine. Hazy. Flying 0850-1725 Sgt.Dickson killed in flying accident."

Toronto Star from Feb, 9, 1943, has little more than CWGC cetails, except that the family held a private ceremony in Carleton Place, Ontario (near Ottawa). He was 19.
