Hampden AN137 & Ventura AE837

Hello chaps,

I wonder if I might be able to trouble someone for the Air Britain or otherwise histories for these two aircraft:

Hampden AN137

Ventura AE837

They are mentioned on a Ferry Command Card I have for a deceased airman.

Hello Dennis,

This is taken from the second edition of AA100 to AZ999 :

AN137 : part of a batch of 68 Hampden Is delived by Canadian Association Aircraft, Montreal, between March and May 1942. Majority retained in Canada, all built as torpedo bombers. This one : Converted Torpedo Bomber, 455 Squadron, 489 Squadron, SOC 14th May 1944.

AE837 : There's a production batch of 188 Lockheed Ventura Is purchased in USA and delivered between April and June 1942, from AE658 toAE845. AE837 is part of a group (from AE837 to 838) diverted to SAAF on 7th August 1942.

OK, thanks very much both of you, that makes sense, they'd have been ferried across the Atlantic. I was a bit confused by the Hampden, but if I'd read my copy of Robertson properly I'd have seen it was built in Canada.
