    Default F/O R.G. Wallis - 119823 (France)

Looking for what caused the death of:
F/O Roger G. WALLIS - 119823 - 296 Squadron, who was killed 18-4-1943 and lies buried in the Franco/British Cemetery at St.Valéry-en-Caux, Dept. Seine-Maritime, France.
The squadron at that time were flying Albemarle's and I can't find a matching aircraft serial number. Baled/dropped from aircraft that returned safely to base ?
Bruno, our "38 Group specialist", can't help.
    Regards and thanks,
    Henk.

Thanks Finn - also on behalf of Bruno (!) - for this excellent and much appreciated info.
I was mislead by an appendix out of a book covering "allied aircraft losses/accidents and crew casualties in Somerset 1939-1945".
In this appendix was mentioned that Whitley BD534 crashed 13-7-1942 on return from repair on take-off from Weston Zoyland, killing Sgt Lawrence E. FAIRCHILD - 353800; three of the crew safe.
Latest print AB Serials BA100-BZ999 indeed has for BD534 as missing from Condé-sur-Huisne, 17-4-1943 and may the bomber have been repaired following the accident on Weston Zoyland in July 1942.
    Best regards,
    Henk.
