RAF Abbreviation Reference

Wow, that copy of the Canadian Gazette has either been printed very badly or copied very badly, but sadly I fear it is the former. Character Recognition would have a very hard time reading most of that! So glad that the NZ Gazette is almost perfect compared to this example! Hope the printing of that page is atypical (in other words an aberration).

Hi all, I am looking for help with abbreviations MTC/MFC used in the CC Group ORB relating to messages send to/from an aircraft.
Earlier I was helped here with similar set of abbreviations - MTB/MFC - Message to base/Message from base, so I suppose this would have a similar meaning like Message to command or control/Message from command or control

Any help will be much appreciated as usually.

I would suggest consulting a wartime copy of the Air Force List (RAF, particularly from the year of your prime interest) and study the section detailing the organisation of the Royal Air Force, and the Air Ministry. Off the top of my head, D of M would be Directorate/Director of Manning, and D of P might well be Directorate/Director of Planning, both very important parts of the higher bureaucracy. DWTT might well have some connection with Technical Training, and appointments ending with letter "O" likewise are probably Directorates with "Organisation" at end of the title. Those beginning with "O" such as O.2, O.7 likewise are almost certainly connected with the Directorates principally connected with Organisation, such as DDO.

D of P will be Director/Directorate of Postings

O2 and O7 are departments within the Directorate of Organisation

DDO is Deputy Directorate of Organisation

AI1F - Branch of Directorate of Intelligence, possibly the Directorate of Allied Air Co-operation and Foreign Liaison

DWTT - I can't find a direct fit but would agree with David in that it could be part of the Directorate of Technical Training or possibly connected to Directorate of WAAF

All of the above come under the Air Member for Personnel, except AI1F and DoTT (DWTT), which fits in with the distribution of a document regarding Establishments. The inclusion of the Directorate of Allied Air Co-operation and Foreign Liaison would also fit in with the formation of a Czech squadron.

Air Force List form summer 1940 stated D of P may be Directorate od Plans or Postings, hard to pick the right one.
DWTT is Directorate of War Training and Tactics
So only one I am not able to identify exactly is AI1F.

Anyway thank you both for your help + advice once more.
