Default Sqn Ldr 'Bam' Bamberger's AE and Clasp

I understand Sqn. Ldr. Cyril S. 'Bam' Bamberger was awarded an Air Efficiency Medal and Clasp sometime in the 1950s. Can someone identify the exact date(s) or at least the year(s), please?

    Thanks

    Steve,
A Cyril Stanley Bamberger was Commissioned (116515, RAFVR) on 9 Feb 42. IF the conditions for the AE Award were the same then as now, and IF he had no break in service, then his first AE should have been due on 9 Feb 52, and the second AE on 9 Feb 62.

    Default Air Efficiency & Clasp

I agree with Peter. Should be something in the London Gazette as my VRSM and Clasp are in there.....

    Dee, Hi,
VRSMs may well be Gazetted but (as far as I am aware) AEs were not. They did (to use a WW1 phrase) just 'come up with the rations'!! And we had one bloke in the MMU with AE and TWO bars! Must have a constitution like an Ox!!

    Hi Steve,

According too 'The Air Efficiency Award 1942 -2005 A nominal Roll' - Christopher Brooks

    BAMBERGER C S F/L 20/4/44 116515 RAFVR DFC

No mention of a clasp, but it is a nominal roll

Some awards were listed in London Gazette like the AE and clasp to 90100 S/L A H H Tollemache George Cross LG 7 March 2006 !

Air Efficiency Awards were not gazetted.

    Thanks guys
Looks like a bit of a tough one to put the finger on, unless the date was recorded by the man in question. Still, the guide of 1952 sounds about right.
