    Default 290 Squadron 18 Jan 1944

I wonder is there a Martinett loss or similar for 18 January 1944 from 290 Squadron accounting for these airmen:

    Sgt D P Boulton
    AC1 A M Winton
Both on Runnymeade and listed missing, believed killed on active service.

They ought to have been flying out of northern Ireland at the time unless I'm mistaken.

    cheers Dennis

    Hello Dennis,

Miles Martinet JN542 of No.290 Squadron ditched off Burrow Head, Wigtown following an engine failure on the 18.01.44 (A.B. RAF Aircraft JA100 - JZ999). This particular aircraft is on my 'to do' list but will provide full details upon receipt.

    Kind regards,

    Tim

    Thanks Tim,
Not sure why I'm gathering NI related crashes as well.

Thanks Tim; both were also on my "accounted" list.

    Henk.
